NASCAR's Championship Week

Ok! So lets start from the beginning! Crew call for work (filming a commercial for coke) was at 3:30am this morning, I knew that the cars were going to be unloaded at 12am. So I figured that if I get there at 3am, it'll be early enough. I ended up getting there around 2:45am. Jeff's car was uncovered as well as Burton's and Bowyer's cars. All the others were covered. I watched them unload Carl Edwards car and they're revving the engine up 3 feet away from me. It was super intense They were having major issues unloading matt kenseth's car for some reason. I don't know what was going on, but it didn't sound the way the other cars sounded. (at the end Kenseth's bumper was all dented and tore up. Didn't know how that happened until i just saw the article

Anyways... the 3 am pics will have to wait temporarily

So we were filming right around the corner and the same street as the hard rock café - where they ended their victory lap. I got to see some of the cars drive around from an aerial view (I was totally feeling like the Goodyear blimp for the time I watched them)
I missed kyle's car/ I saw burton's and back drive by. 2 min later that's when I get called on my walkie "Jocelyn what's your 20???" the AD said in an urgent voice. So I respond that I'm by the elevators on set. Then him and james - the production mananger start yelling at me to hurry up and get down to the street as fast as I can.... Meanwhile.. the elevators are taking forever and stopped 5 times on the way down. I FINALLY make it to the ground level, and James tells me that the drivers just pulled up in their cars in front of the Hardrock Café.

So now I'm like I MISSED IT?!?!?!?!!?!?! NOOOOOOOOOO and I'm all frustrated.... Until I see Clint Bowyer walking across the street from me!!! So I immediately scream out CLINT!!!!!! And he turns and see me tripping over myself waving my arms crossing the road and screaming congrats!!!! You had a great season!!! So he just starts cracking up laughing at me waves hello and said thanks. Whenever I see that guy there's always laughter involved...

PS.. it might be because we were filming on that street and had all of our trucks there, but it was pretty empty with virtually no fans gathered.. But there were two barricades set up so that you would stay like 4 feet from the driver...

NOW... soon after Clint passed by, Tony, Harvick and Kenseth walk as if they're all pissed off staring straight ahead completely ignoring everyone. I got an uber fuzzy pic of tony and harvick because I thought my camera wasn't working. Carl Edwards tagged along a couple feet back, I got his attention and he flashed me that famous Carl Edwards smile and said hi - he was really nice. After this I start running somewhere I think.. and the camera flies out of my hand and smack center under one of the SUV's they had. So knowing that there were plenty more drivers to come out I lay flat on the NYC street and crawl under the car.

*this is where my PA brothers come in to share this story - one of the guys was telling people in the street that I was changing the oil.. but I digress...

SO I get my camera and out comes Jeff Gordon. Now I'm racing around and somehow break into the barrier with any press people that's there, so there really wasn't anything holding me back. I said congrats to him and shook his hand.. OK.. in all honestly.. I had some super quick convo with him.. but I was sooo hyped up I can't remember anything anyone said to me! Then came out more guys, I can't remember who led the pack but Kyle was walking second looking "focused" and staring straight ahead.. and I screamed out KYLE!!! KYLEE!!!! And on the second time he turns around and I quickly say *like a dumbass might I add "You're my favorite!". At this point he had just passed me.. so he stops short causing Jeff Burton to crash into him and he takes a step back towards me and Burton is all confused and Kurt was like ????? and Kyle goes from his "focused" look to a big smile. _ I think he was happy to have a fan- so now kyle's in front of me smiling and looking right at me and he holds his out hand to me. * melts * So I reach out and he doesn't give me a high five or a hand shake, no, he just hold my hand.... And I'm like... all warm and fuzzy inside. So eventually we let go and I'm in a dream like state, and then I realize.. oh ****!!!! Kurt!!! ... so I scream back KURTTT!!! And he kinda does a look back and wave, but he was still like WTF???

Then lastly Jimmie Johnson walks out and I give him a high five at the end and congratulate him on his championship too.
